JPDA, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010, has launched anniversary projects every five or ten years, with substantial preparation. Marking a half-century of activities, JPDA held commemorative projects such as a commemorative lecture meeting, a publication and an exhibition from 2010 through 2011 under the theme of "The first step toward the next half-century".
Japan-USA Package Design Conference ’86 was held on the theme of "expectation for package design".
The ceremony titled "The Period of Coexistence" was held along with a symposium on "Package Coexisting with People and the Earth".
Japan-Europe Design Conference was held on the themes of "Is a universal design functioning?" and "How do cultural differences affect the results of creative designing?"
The symposium titled "NEXT- something creatively linking current design to next generation design" was held.
The ceremony titled "The first step toward the next half-century" was held.
Iwai no Katachi (Shapes of Celebration) Exhibition and Japanese Long-selling Products Exhibition (co-hosted with the Printing Museum) were held.
"Package Design no Kan Dokoro" (The Crucial Point of Package Design) was published.
