JPDA invites entries from professional designers for Japan Package Design Awards prize contest. JPDA has made biennial awards for outstanding work since 1985. This competition gives an opportunity for package designers to have the true value of their products assessed through various Aspects such as design quality and creativity. An estimated 1,000 entries are rigidly judged by member and Fellow judges and JPDA distributes awards such as "Grand Prix", "Golden Award", "Silver Award", "Category Award" and "Special Judge's Award". Aiming to continually improve the public under standing of package design, JPDA acclaims excellent works through the contest. The award evaluates design of packaged materials in the areas of manufacturing, physical distribution and environmental impact. On top of that, its purpose is to recognize the quality of design and the contribution to the value of goods.
